Raku Workshops

Weekend Raku workshops are held most months of the year. They are a three hour session in which ready-made biscuit-ware pots are glazed and then fired in simple outdoor kilns. The hot pots are then placed to cool in reduction chambers. This process can produce magical effects on the glazes. The process is simple, unpredictable and exciting. The completed pots are taken home at the end, making this one of the most gratifying experiences in ceramics workshops!

Clay Group

Rather than being a formal pottery class, Clay Group is a relaxing space to experiment with clay. Explore the possibilities of working with clay, or bring a project idea. Assistance available, with a variety of potters’ wheels to practice on. If you are new to throwing, you will need to attend an Introduction to Throwing session before using them.

Clay Group is currently a drop-in. No need to book. Just turn up 7pm - 9pm any Monday except Bank Holidays.
£12 per session. There is a nominal charge for firing and glazing based on weight.

Throwing with Intent:
Six-Week

Course

Join us for our six-week Throwing with Intent course run by Karen Groves. You will move on from basic beginner’s throwing to more intentional shapes including the skills to make bowls, mugs and jugs. The fee includes all materials, firing and glazing of pieces made during the six sessions. This is for people who have already done an Introduction Session (or equivalent) and put in some practice. As a guide, you need to be able to centre, pull up and throw a reliable cylinder to benefit from this course.
